Natural Defence

I thought this thing would be good for some still life images.
It's dried out, vegetable matter and obviously did not want it's seeds to be messed with when it was alive. Other than that I have no idea what kind of plant it used to be.

Just some superfluous info: These were lit from the left with a louvered softbox and a reflector on the right.

great! what did you use for lightning and background? or did you edit it a super heck of a lot?

A couple of posts up.
I used a piece of black cloth for the background. On the left I used a small louvered (to keep the light off the background) soft box @ f8, and a foam core reflector on the right. I also shaded the lens with a piece of black foam board.
The lens was a 24mm t/s @ f8, and the camera was set to ISO 100
Other than the black and white conversion and some cropping these are straight shots.
