Can others edit my Photos

Hello everyone, I am pretty new to the DSLR Game just recently followed my passion

I have Canon 60d
Tamron 17-50 autofocus vibration control

When ever I take a picture, it has a weird vertical line distortion effect. Can anyone help me with this?

I tried posting an example but it says I need to post at least 5 times before it allows me

So I'll just talk

until I reach 5 posts

then I should be allowed to post a link to an example picture of the distortion.

No software- I just put the sd card into the imac and opened it in viewer.

The thing is even when I zoom into the picture on my canon lcd screen, I can see the distortion.

Heres another example in bandw

What file format are you shooting in? You probably have it set on one of the smaller Jpeg sizes and therefore your files are not that high of resolution and you cannot crop or zoom as aggresively. That would be my first guess.

I set it on the highest jpeg and even on the lowest RAW setting, I saw the distortion.

Thanks everyone for responding so quickly! I actually was telling myself "I'll check back in a week to see if anyone commented" lol

Are these taken from the RAW files or the JPEG files? Perhaps the codec is jacked for your computer so it is distorting the images. Go to canons website and update for your operating system. Also, go into the menu and reset all of the settings. You said it happened on the smallest RAW. Do you not see it on the full sized RAW files?

I'm away from home and will try out the suggestions and repost later tonight/tom - but shouldn't even the "smaller" settings come out clear?

I always thought paying all that extra money for a DSLR would give you amazing results- even the lower settings being comparable to high end point and shoot cameras!
