What would be the next best lense to buy after having the D50 with a 18-55 ?

Do you have an idea of what you want to shoot? The kit lens is a good all rounder giving a reasonably wide angle at 18 and a good general length at around 50. Chances are you would probably want something a bit longer. Have a look at the 70-200 and decide whether you can afford the fixed aperture or the more basic model - both will provide fine results.
