Need help finding a certain strap

As my search continues to find the perfect strap for me, I have realized that there is no do-it-all strap.

I really enjoy shooting with my Blackrapid straps, they work great and can easily be removed when I don't need it and there is no attachments hanging off the camera which is nice if I'm working on a tripod or doing something that doesn't require having a strap.

The problem I have with the BR straps, while they are awesome, they are not perfect in every situation. If I'm at an event or something along that where I'll be carrying my camera for several hours, its perfect. But when I'm just out walking around or running errands, I want to quickly grab my camera and not deal with the BR strap getting tangled up, so a regular neck strap or shoulder strap is perfect because I can just throw the camera on my shoulder and go and its not too clunky. Also I find the BR strap a little less useful when I'm using a light lens.

There are plenty of shoulder/neck straps available out there but the problem is I cannot find a should/neck strap that is quickly removable without leaving any attachments on the camera. I thought getting Think Tank's strap because its rugged and small, but it doesn't remove easily.

So I'm wondering if anyone here might know a strap that I can unhook from the strap lugs easily without leaving attachments?

The Peak Design slide is pretty close, but it still leaves the attachments and another thing I don't like about is when I'm using my 70-200 f/4, its actually quite uncomfortable because the lens is just long enough that it constantly bounces against my leg. The massive buckles are kind of a nuisance as well.

The only thing I can think of is getting a regular neck strap and putting quick release things on the end, but I don't know exactly what to look for and I want something that will be strong and wont fail.

Any help would be appreciated!

I have a luma labs cinch if you were interested in a quickly adjustable strap/sling style? I bought the kit with the arca swiss plate, which makes the strap even more useful because the camera is mounted like a BR strap and also has the A.S. plate for my tripod, and it's light. The video is of the first design, which the one I have doesn't have the pull tabs, it has a hard polymer slider, which is better and stays out of the way.

Yeah I checked out that strap, not interested.

I'm looking for something kind of like this that is easily removable.

I'm an Opt-Tech user rather than Black Rapid. I suspect that they are both about equals.

These days, I typically use a genuine Canon handstrap on my gripped & bracketed 5Diii. It's quick and comfortable. But I sometimes want my shoulder strap, too. What I did is mount the shoulder strap to the left strap mount (when holding camera) and the other and attached to the hand strap itself, which is attached to the right strap mount. I can use both at the same time and sometimes do!

Having both allows me to hold the camera by the hand strap, then wrap the shoulder strap around my hand & wrist in such a way that it 'locks' the entire camera to my hand and the last 'bit' of shoulder strap is looped around my pinkie. Even if I open my hand completely, the camera will not slide off my hand. If you were to try to pull the camera away, you'd have to physically separate my hand apart from my wrist! For me, this works well when I'm doing downtown city scape shooting and am concerned I might drop the camera if only held on by the hand strap. It also allows me to relax my hand while walking, etc to avoid hand cramps.

I have the OpTech strap on one camera that usually has the small lens or macro and the BR on the camera with the grip and usually a larger lens. So I just grab whatever the day calls for. The OpTech has the quick releases so I can pop off the neoprene part and then clip together the thin strap when using on the tripod or in the rain sleeve.

I agree that the BR is a lot of strap if your not actually wearing it.

I tried the OpTech route. Awesome quality straps, but they were not for me.

I want to remove the ENTIRE strap from the camera and not have any single attachment for the strap still attached to the camera. But I'm not having any luck finding what I want haha.

I mentioned this in another thread, since I'm a musician I use neck straps a lot. The best, low cost solution for this is a saxophone strap with a locking plastic buckle which there are many. Clip it on one corner of the camera and unclip at will. I think a 5 to 40lb saxophone weighs more than a camera.

I'll take pictures later if I remember. I was going to do it last night but I played a couple hours of soccer with kiddies instead then totally forgot about it.

I use my OEM straps but I put both strap ends on one side of the camera to not interfere with my trigger finger. I also allows me to pull the camera to one side and under my arm much more comfortably.

I've been looking around on Etsy. I've found a few that are pretty close to what I've looking for.

My best bet is to buy a leather strap I want and just put my own metal D clips on it. But I dunno.
