Need help on the several lens I received

Dear all, I am quiet new in photography, just bought my EOS550D in Feb.
Thanks to friend and family I received 3 additional lenses (for free) when I bought the camera, unfortunately I feel a bit lost and do not always know which one to use when and also the quality difference between all - although the one I receive are quiet old ones :

Here are the lenses :

- Canon kit lens EF 18-55mm

- Canon EF 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5
- Canon 70-210mm f/4
- Tamron 28-200mm Aspherical f/3.8-5.6

To note, all the lenses are perfectly working

I would like your help to know what's the quality difference between those lenses and then which one is best to use for indoor picture and for outdoor pictures ?

Welcome to the forum.

The easy answer, is that you should use whatever lens you want to use. Try them all out, eventually you will be able to tell which one(s) give you the best quality.

I would guess that the 28-200mm is probably on the lower end of the quality scale. When a lens has such a wide range of zoom, there is usually a compromise to the image quality.

The Canon EF 70-210mm f/4 has some decent optics in it. It debuted in 1987, so it's not the latest and greatest. But for a beginner, a constant f/4 zoom lens is a pretty nice perk.

The other lenses, not so great. But for free, you can't beat them. I'd venture to guess that the 35-70 isn't even that bad of a lens. Just not current.
