Well apparently if you end a thread title with the word "print" it doesn't make a normal thread so that is why I am posting this question again.

Okay my question is about this picture. I took this at the National Title celebration and I am looking to get this printed and framed. The only place I know that does this is mpix but they only do fixed sizes as far as I know and I want this one to be a foot tall which will be 31 inches wide so I gotta find someone that prints custom sizes. Anyone know of anyone that will do this?

Your image link is broken.

From Mpix.com - Help

How to order custom size prints

Our printers will only print to the aspect ratio of our standard print sizes. You will need to crop your image to our standard sizes before uploading to ensure the correct cropping is done. If you have images that are not sized to our standard print sizes, you will need to place them on a canvas in Adobe Photoshop to get the desired size. Example: a 14x30 image would be placed on a 20x30 canvas (white border) in Photoshop to get the custom print size. Please use the text tool in Photoshop and write in the white border "please trim print" to alert our technicians to trim the image for you. Trimming is only available on print sizes 12x18 and larger.

But Mpix has a paper size that is 30 inches. For Mpix to make the print 30 inches wide for you, you would need to reduce the height of your panorama just slightly - to 11.61 inches.

You could have the image printed at 31" wide if you put it on a 24" x 36" canvas.

If you had it printed on 24" wide paper the height of the photo would need to be 7.74 inches.

It is nice to have some white border around the image so it can be matted and framed, or at least to make framing easier by having some white bporder to fit the frame rabbet.

Fixed the link.

So I just need to add a white border around it in photoshop to make it 20 inches high so it will fit a 20x30 and they will trim the rest of it off.

Yep, at least after you've resized the width. Don't forget to add the text "Please Trim Excess"

I often put 2 or 3 panoramics on the same 20x30 canvas, or other images on the remaining blank space to minimize paying for paper that wouldn't other wise be used. They will send you what they trim, since you have paid for it.

I know this post is a little old, but just for future reference, if anyone comes across this, I own a small custom print shop, and we print custom sized prints for NO additional charge what-so-ever. And, you don't have to order a minimum of 1000 prints or anything ridiculous like that. You can order a SINGLE print for a very reasonable cost.

If anyone happens across this post at a later date and needs custom prints made at standard print prices, you can visit our website at www.favillephoto.com or email us at favillephoto@gmail.com
