I would guess 3 is the one most would prefer. anyhow, today was first time i broke out the flash in a long time. as always cc is also welcome.

#1 or #3 for the most charming picture of the kid, but I like #2 better as a photograph. I like seeing the road (path?) stretching out behind the kid. The image of a kid in the middle of the road is kind of witty, or weird, or something, to me.

I like #1 but wish it wasn't tilted. It seems to me to have the best smile. #2 seems like he is engaged in something and #3 to me seems like a half smile or smirk. Just my 2 cents.

dang really? I was more concerned with potetial blown out highlights on his face/feet. Maybe I went too far.

the path was the most interesting to me too. Hence why I only had a few really low angles like #3. But in terms of a shot of the kid, I think the low angle was the way to go.

I agree the expression in 1 was the best. I kinda wish I didn't gamble with the tilted angle for that one. But with kids you never know when theyre planning on giving up the best expression. I was also having issues with the on camera flash setting off the slave in bright(ish) light from so far away. So i def had a lot of timing issues.

Why not make the three work as a set? A horizontal tryptic with the photos in a 1-3-2 order...

I like the expression in #1 as well, The tilt isn't a huge issue if you can crop it.

rokvi, thanks! i thought about that too, but i'd lose all the greenery and the path which makes it a plain backdrop shot. not that there's anything wrong with that, but i really wanted to incorporate the location.
