My wife got me an account w/ GoDaddy as a Christmas gift this year. I agree that the initial sign up process was rather confusing with all the different options, but I got the actual site working within about a day. I had previously been using a free site from a former member here who was offering free space. I think it turned out okay. I still need to update my contact section to send email to the site email instead of gmail but haven't gotten around to it. I didn't find the actual file manager and site setup to be that difficult. I've taken classes in programming C++ but never anything to do with web sites, and it may be evident in my site, but it works for me. With domain registration and signing up for traffic statistics, it cost me about $80/yr.
