You can go ALOT higher than 100 without getting grain depending on the camera, but if its half decent even at 800 wouldhave given you enough shutter speed to fix the issue and still have very little grain if any.

And if you shoot in RAW, you can correct some minor noise within the processing software. And if you're budget limited and need to filter out minor noise from a JPEG, I used Noiseware for a long time. Don't expect miracles, especially if the noise is really bad, but it can help.
