Nepotism rules again

My younger brother is a very distinguished animal physiologist and has been working on a book about animal andrology (vital to breeders of the different species.)
(A few years ago he sent me a particularly nasty video on the artificial insemination of pigs; after watching that video I wouldn't shake his hand unless I was wearing rubber gloves.)

Two years ago he asked me take some product pictures of small, specialized flow measuring devices. (these are useful in the lab - and nowhere else.)
I ended up editing the illustrations for his book and communicating with the publisher about their requirements, all of which was, if not fun, then quite interesting and good experience.

He just notified me that the book was published and being sold by Amazon with one of his/my pictures as the front cover. (Animal Andrology: Theories and Applications: 9781780643168: Science & Mathematics Books @ Amazon.com )

So, if any of you is interested in more information about how various animal species actually do the deed, I can get you an autographed copy at no additional cost.

While searching Amazon, I found that my cousin has written several books on ancient Egypt; it turns out he is a distinguished Egyptologist. (not much of a growth field there.)

Thanks but tbh, the cover wasn't a big deal except that it was yet another example of how the business of photography has changed.
Rather than him employing a product photographer and graphic artist with a lot more skill (which was unneeded) and paying a good amount of money, he sent his little doodads and photomicrographs to me and I did it for fun and for free.

Totally correct. :blushing:
In the world of specialty academic publishers, the author foots all bills and his royalties are miniscule.
However I felt about cheating a graphic artist and undercutting the profession, I had to balance that against my brother (and co-author) spending a good amount of money for ~30 hours of work.
