I decided to step up my "simple" strobe set-up so i bought a AB400. I also got a 64" PLM and a Vagabond Lithium portable power source. I was told that all three were good choices to start off with so im hoping that's correct. I searched around on here and found a little discussion on them so i decided to give it a go. SO! Was it a good choice? Ohh and i also picked up some new Cactus V5 Triggers. They're weird because there is no more transmitter. Every unit can play both roles of transmitting and receiving. Anywho picks will be up when i get them in a few days or so. Just hoping i made a good choice

Was it a good choice?...that depends on how you intend to use it. The AB400 is a nice little light, but for only $50 more, you could have gotten the AB800, which is more powerful.

If you plan to use the strobe outdoors, or in any location away from power outlets, then the Vagabond battery pack was a good choice. But if you are just going to use your light indoors, then you probably don't need the batter pack.

I don't know much about the Cactus V5 triggers. I have a much older version, the V2s...and while they did work, I upgraded to the Cyber Sync triggers from the makers of Alienbee.
