Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I figure I would make my first post a pic to be critiqued. My set up is a D5200 with the 18-55 and 55-200 kit lenses. So far I am having a good time trying to grab some nice shots. Sadly though (mostly for the wife :D) I am starting another expensive hobby.

Thanks for any feedback.

Welcome!

These might be improved by cropping.

If you would like somebody to crop them for demonstration purposes, set your profile to allow editing.

Welcome to the site. Beautiful birds. As Designer said these might be improved by cropping. But these nice.

Thanks. They are bigger on my pc; just started using Flickr:confused: Anyway, crop away!

Not bad, but as has been said, they could use a bit of cropping, particularly the first one. In the second one, I would place the bird slightly differently in the frame if possible. Right now, you have it in the upper centre part of the image. The upper part is not a problem, but the central positioning tends to produce a very static image. It would be better if the bird was placed more to the left in the upper "thirds position". This gives it room in the image to appear to be flying into the picture and is often a better composition than a centrally placed subject. Regardless, the under wing detail in this bird is very good.

Thanks WesternGuy, I can see exactly what you are saying.

Here's one version of a crop.
