The 24-105mm f4 IS L is a good lens and certainly performs very well. You might however want to aim for the 24-70mm f2.8 L because of its wider max aperture. The two lenses are often hotly debated over because of their high performance and features.

Most times the working pros tend to (tend to) go for the 24-70mm for its extra light gathering and smaller depth of field control optoins ( good for creativity and lowlight work - without or with limited lighting).

So would it be WISE to just buy the 5D MARK II BODY and then BUY THE 24 - 70mm lens? I personally love WIDE LENS/FISHEYE LENS looks...because of skateboarding! in skateboard photography we always used wide lens for filming and photographing! and i've always been a fan of how the image comes out.
