Welcome to the forum... you're gonna love it here!

Welcome to the world of photography. It's a great interest to have!

#5 is the best of the bunch, but maybe because I like cats. Although I'd have to say the selective coloring in the eyes of your pictures is more distracting than compelling.

#1 the big out of focus wall thing on the left is distracting, its too large an object. It creates a lot of weight in the image and pulls you away from the subject.
#2 Is nice but somewhat flat, it could use more contrast.
#3 Is also just too flat, it doesn't jump out at all.
#4 Ick facebook, make it more blurry! Joking, it is a neat concept but again, too much selective coloring. You want to make sure it invokes a feeling, it seems a bit forced here.

Welcome to the forum!

Rather than give specific C&C on each photo, I'd like to offer some general tips.
  • When taking photos of animals (or children), it's best to get down to their level rather than shoot down on them. Your photo of the cat is a great example of this, and if you'd shot the dog the same way they may have been more pleasing.
  • Selective color can be fun to play with, but it's a tool that should be wielded carefully. Selective color will draw the eye away from everything else in the composition, to the point where it almost becomes a composition-within-a-composition. Therefore if the color portion is unattractive, it will spoil an otherwise attractive photo. I'd suggest holding off on that kind of processing until you've strengthened your basic technical skills.
Keep shooting!

Thanks Aze for critiques and comments about my pictures.. Umm do you have any tips on how I can avoid flat images?

Thanks Orions :D So I guess i should improve my basic photography skills first before playing with selective color.

Guys thank you , I'm learning a lot from your C&C's and yea thank you so much for pointing out the things I must improve for better images :)

Sure, more contrast in your b&w will help. Remember all you have is shades of gray, black and white. Your images all hover around mid gray, there are not many darker or lighter portions. Giving more contrast will help the images stand out more.
