Hi all! My name is Matt. I just bought my first slr camera. It is a used canon eos rebel t3. I have always loved photography and found this camera in a pawn shop for a good price. I know nothing other than point and shoot lol. I would like to start with landscape shots as I live near the beach. I want to start with night time photos. The only equipment I have is the 18-55 lens and a tripod right now. Please let me know what gear I should pick up asap and what your opinions of equip to strive for are and any help you can give me for settings is greatly appreciated. Matt, Calm down. Just kiddin. I got my first dslr a year ago and I'm still crazy. Just enjoy your current (capable) equipment. Your lens is plenty wide for landscapes and you can experiment with longer / slower shutter speeds for night shots and use your tripod.
