Its good to print some shots every now and then. You need to see what they actually look like printed cause most always look good on the monitor.

Also, are you supposed to crop actor headshots to 8x10?

It depends on how the photos will be used, like for Zed/Comp cards. Actor zed/comp cards - Bing

I would say that the first batch ALL have too little head space. People in these types of 'conventional' shots need a bit of "air" above their heads, especially when there is ample chest and torso shown below; it's one thing if the pose is a tight headshot, or even a bust shot, but on a half-body shot, having three or four millimeters above the top of the head feels visually "off". In a very studied, formal, classical Portrait (capital P)...allowing extra head space is a fairly standard, classical convention. In casual, informal, fun, free-wheeling 21st century snaps, one still needs at least "some" head space on shots like these.
