Check out upper corners. Widest setting, no lens hood. Should I return the lens?

You have either a lens hood or filter on the lens and your lens (wide open) sees the obstruction at the corners. I got the same lens and I don't put on filters on it for that reason. Supposedly. there are ultra-thin filter mounts that won't cause this, but I don't have them.

Thanks, no lens hood but UV and polarizer filters. Guess I'd better try without those.

According to reviews, at 10mm you're lucky you didn't get your shoes, tripod and the car parked behind you in the shot.

Nice shot just crop it out, looks like there may be some dust in you lens/camera.

 I know what you mean. Yes, I think those are water splashes on the filter. Tripod was submerged a few times. :)

At 10mm, you get pretty amazing depth-of-field even with the middle apertures, and this means that even the dust on your filter is within range of depth-of-field and will be imaged. Another reason why you don't want anything in front of the lens.

If you use a polarizer with this lens, and you're shooting the sky, you'll see a band of polarized darkening, bordered on both sides by less and less polarization. That effect is visible even at 22mm, so I generally avoid using the polarizer with this lens.

You know what, I got the same exact issue on a few of my pictures in Europe with my Sigma 10-20. I noticed it only happened when I had my flash attached to my camera and during daytime. I thought the shutter might have been too fast and caught the aperture blades...

I use a normal sized hoya polarizer on mine and don't get vignetting at f/16 and 10mm. I preferred the B&W Slim CPL but hated not being able to use a lens cap and after I cracked it on a rock, got the standard size. Get rid of the UV filter and it should solve your problem. The CPL alone should not cause this.

OK guys, thanks. Got it. Super wide angle + normal thickness filter = vignetting:)

Try it with just ONE filter and see what it looks like. I'd be interested to know considering I just got the Sigma 10-20mm and have yet to purchase filters.

Will do. I'll try this weekend.
