It's actually a 55-200, ignore the title.

lol, #1 is pretty darn good!

I'll second that! Wish F1 still came within driving distance of me. The one race I went to was back in 05 or 04 - the year before the last race at Indy. It was the one where only the six Bridgestone shod cars ran. The Michelin running teams lined up, did the warm up lap and went straight into the pits. It was a shame and I only had a P&S camera at the time. I'd love to be able to go to a race now that I have a decent tele. The second image was good too but the first is good enough that McLaren could use it for advertising.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I remember that race well, you're lucky to have seen that, and Indy was an awesome circuit for F1. They are building a track in Texas for next year which will be incredible.
These photos came from a demo Jenson Button did in my hometown today, he drove last years car through the streets it was really cool to see, he actually gave it some too.

The Indy road course is Micky Mouse. None of the drivers liked it. Several of them said it was like a poorly layed out go-kart track. The Moto GP guy's that just raced there also had little good to say about the road course.

What do you figure Whamilton's chances are of actually finishing the next race. He's getting quite the rep for suffering severe brain fade, and running into other race cars.

That is probably the worst and most boring track i have ever seen, i hope they don't go there next year

A new Herman Tilke designed F1 track is being built outside Austiin, Texas, as we speak.

It's my understanding the new track already has a 2012 date.

Unfortunately, Austin is a considerably longer drive for me. Indy was about 5 hours. The course wasn't that great and others in the U.S. probably would have been better at the time. That's why the race I saw there was the next to last one they ever ran there. On the back part of the track, which was the banked oval section, the Michelin tires couldn't handle the extra force generated by the banking. The Michelin teams all wanted a chicane put in place to slow that section down but the powers that be wouldn't do it. I did agree in principle - if Bridgestone could build a tire that would handle it then Michelin should have come with something that could as well. At any rate - I got two free tickets to the next year's race but couldn't go so I sold them and made some dosh off it. I haven't been following F1 in recent years since I don't get the Speed Channel anymore. Wish I could get back into it. You can't appreciate the sound those cars make until you are actually at a race - and the way you can actually feel the air shock when they go by - NASCRAP doesn't even hold a candle.

Any track that is made for F1 is crap for the spectator, your so far from the action and when motorbike go there it is awful
How many tracks in the US do you get this

Formula car racing was a hobby of mine for a long time. I started in Formula Ford, then moved up to USF2000, Formula Mazda, lastly Atlantic. (and some think photography is an expensive hobby :lmao:)

If you can swing it, about the closest you can get to what an F1 car feels and sounds like is driving a 14,000 rpm, 40 hp, 200 lb, 6-speed, 120 mph, shifter kart.
Mark Dismore has a nice kart racing facility east of Indianapolis in New Castle. New Castle Motorsports Park / New Castle Raceway / Kart Racing Track, East of Indianapolis, IN or if you're ever in or near Chandler, Arizona, the the Bondurant driving school has a shift kart program in their kart school. Sadly no, That's the only decent photo i got of the car as it was in a tent and there was a post directly in front, plus i was quite a distance away within a crowd.

Hamilton spends more time in the stewards office than in the car, still he's a great driver, a little too ruthless at times.

It was pretty phaphetic that Michelin came to race with a tyre that wasn't capable despite all of the planning and money that goes into each meeting.

Have you guys checked out the video of Tom Cruise driving a Red Bull F1 car, it's amazing to say Richard Hammond from Top Gear drove a Renault some years back and he was struggling to keep the brakes and tyres up to temperature so they actually work.

Don't confuse ruthless, with stupidly dangerous. Taking yourself out is one thing. Repeatedly taking others out when you have brain fade will get someone badly hurt, or worse.

It's not without reason the British press are calling Lewis - the Whaminator. At least "Crash" Sato moved on. We get to watch Sato crash in Indy car now.

Yes, I had seen the Tom Cruise RedBull video.
