It says there are different shutter speeds but can I change them?

Check the manual, it'll tell you there. It might be that the camera will set it all for you so that you get a good exposure. In that case, you'll have no choice. But there are tricks you can do to get what you want (my digital is an old P&S so I've had to learn them. :mrgreen: Like underlighting an object and using full zoom so the camera has to open up the aperture, which will give you a small depth of field.
