New to action photography

Make sure you rotate at your torso not your shoulders.

I've been playing around with full sized cars at 1/40th and you get some neat images. I get about 1 in 6 at that shutter speed i get to keep.

Mate I've just spent an hour at the local track, it's practice day for the second round of a big club series that's happening tomorrow. Took 100 photos and got 3 keepers.... these things are REALLY hard to capture! I have a new level of respect for your shots :) By the end of it I was getting the hang of it though so tomorrow should be a bit easier.

They said I can get right up to the edge of the track but unfortunately I can't get inside the corners so I'm going to struggle to get shots like your #2. There is one spot with an s-bend but they're really tight hairpins, so I can get quite close there but other than that I'll be shooting from outside the track.... but I think I can make it work..

I'm pretty excited about it, I'm even hiring a 70-200mm f/4L for it! :D Thanks again for the inspiration and if I get some good ones I'll post you a link
