ok so here is that shot too. Not the first taken with the D70 but close. we were trying to get good action shots with minimal blur and a large field of view. I wish the shot wat a bit earlier cuz I had some mad air!! The shot didn't turn out that well but were learning!!Ya I messed that link up. wrong pic anyway!!That's pretty cool, nice trick. I was using full auto mode, sport mode, Nikkor 18-70 af-s lens, uv filter. I think what happened is I was following the subject during the action and had too much body movement for the camera to keep up? ie changing the focal point too fast?
I was trying to follow the subject starting from behind and ending in front during the action. Performing this shot spread while not watching where my feet were was difficult due to being on an angular surface, ie un-even loading ramp.

I've shot pictures of cars moving much quicker than that and they turn out very well - I'm thinking that your shutter speed was to slow and your aperture was stopped down to much causing a blur to your photo's. Do you have a photo editor of some sorts that you could pull the exif information for us? This will show us what you settings were for that pictures. I.E. Shutter speed, ISO, aperture, focal length....might help us figure out why the shot is blurry.
