Okay, I like the originals a lot better, too.

I think that #1 was way overdone in post-processing.

I can't tell what look you were going for on #3, but I would've adjusted the aperture to have the buildings blurred and the floating things in focus. Because they're not quite blurred, but they're definitely not in focus.

I don't know how to adjust #4, as I'm new to using a DSLR and really playing with things in Photoshop, but I imagine there's something that you can do to sharpen the way the lights look.

#5 adjust the sky, it looks blown out. Other than that, I love it. You might add a little bit of the effects from the one you photoshopped, but don't get carried away.

Just my opinions, you said you'd like to hear from the amateurs of the bunch!
