Hi guys! I'm new to photography. I bought a D5100 two weeks ago and I'd really appreciate some feedback on my pictures!

Also, if you have any suggestions as to how people usually share their photos on this forum, I'd love to hear those as well :)

Welcome to the forum Kevin.
For #1 I really don't have much of an opinion. Maybe a tighter crop.
#2 I had to actually take a second look to notice the white breasted nut hatch. A tighter crop would help rectify that. Birds are tough to capture. There are several people here who capture some amazing shots of birds who have actually talked a little about how they capture their images.
#3 I like this image it's simple but, IMO it's nice.

Just my opinion though and as long as you like them that's all that matters. ;)

Hey thanks, I appreciate your feedback! I'm just trying to get better :)

Welcome to the froum. First impressions:

1) I think I might have cropped it closer to get rid of the out of focus (OOF) branches along the bottom, they are a bit distracting.

2) You either need a longer lens , or you need to crop it a bit better to see the bird - if it is the subject of your image. I like that the colours are good and the tree bark is nice and sharp.

3) I'm a wildlife (animals, birds and flowers, etc) and macro guy, so I can't really comment on this one. It is sharp and the bokeh is good.

As far as sharing your images on the forum, a couple of things to consider - if you number your images, it makes it a lot easier for a reviewer to refer to them as they don't have to keep flipping back and forth to ensure that they are commenting on the right image. Also, if you could leave some space between your images, then viewing them as individual images is easier.

Welcome to the forum.

For two weeks you're doing pretty good.

Now pull up your big boy pants because you're about to hear a whole bunch of how much better you could be doing... (which will sound like what you're doing wrong if you don't hold your ears just right) :-)

Hey guys, thanks a ton for the advice and perspectives! I think I'll also call myself a nature guy eventually haha. It's been fun so far, I'm looking forward to many years of snapping pictures that only I think look good ;)
