Newbie Here!

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie! I have a lot of questions stirring up in my head! Ultimately, I want to get into newborn/child photography but first and foremost photos of my 2 little kids come first!

I want to be able to take portrait-like shots of my kids, say just around the house or wherever we are. I just love those candid, but yet professional looking shots. Can anyone help me!

I have a SONY DLSR 300.
