I took this of my niece, I'd like to post photos and need advice and tips.

This shot has good composition, but I think the light could've been more "special". How you do that exactly could be any number of techniques. I am just now thinking of some colored light, such as a gel on a flash. With a flash, you could also make the background go really dark. That's about all I can think of right now.

@Designer I've never used a gel on a flash. Sounds like something to google. Unless you have any tips on that. Thank you for feedback. It means a lot.

Great first start! Hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty to do some post processing. First, I cropped it to 8x10. It looked a little long to me.

Color:

Edits: made the white balance slightly warmer; increased exposure, shadows, whites, clarity; decreased contrast and highlights. Sharpened it a tad given the small size, but the original might not need it.

I also thought this looked pretty darn good in black and white:

For B&W version, same as above, but increased the shadows a bit more.
