Next lense after standard kit lense?

I agree with overread. I personally went with a 50mm/1.8 because i wanted to start shooting portraits and its all i could afford at the time.

What are you looking to shoot? then prehaps we can give you better info, a Budget Price wouldnt go a miss either

Maybe, but that as a criteria is far too broad - usable lenses run from 8mm through to 400mm.

My first lens after the kit was 70-200mm f/4 L. It's good quality and without the IS it's not too pricy either.

I found it fairly self-explanatory. hrry needs two zooms. A wide-angle to normal and a mid to long.
