I just finished it, pretty thought provoking.

Care to give the low-down on the hoe-down rundown on the storyline?

It's about gene manipulation, isolation of a master gene, transgenic pets (pets which were altered through gene manipulation to have unusual traits, such as intelligent conversation, ability to display different colors or images on their bodies, etc.)

Very fascinating and frightening all at the same time because it could become real in the not so far future.
