Nikon 50mm f/2 issues

I picked up a 50mm f/2 AI lens and cant seem to get it to work on my D7000, D750 or D500. F stop set to f/16. Any ideas?

WHAT is the problem?
That is a completely manual lens; no auto focus, no auto exposure (except I think Aperture priority)

No aperture or metering functions in any mode.
