But I finally bought a Nikon 85mm 1.8D...just gotta wait for shipping now.

Anyway, anybody got any pics out there that were taken with this lens or similar, while I'm waiting for it to arrive?

Or good excuses I can use to prevent the inevitable verbal lashings?

That is true I hide the price of my 80 mm like for 2 month until it was basically pay off from photo assignments. LOL My Wife will kill me if it was not like that.

See what I really want to do is upgrade from the D70 & get this lens. So, of course, I get the lens first, because I can't get them both in one step.

Step 2: I listen to her rant on and on...and then I tell her "I've got it covered! I was just going to sell some of my other equipment to cover the cost.

Step 3: Sell the Nikon D70, listen to her rant about "WTH did you sell our camera for?!? What are you thinking!?!"

Step 4: Wait a couple months...til she get's sick of not having a camera....and whala..in the market for a brand new DSLR.

It helps that she's pregnant too, doubles my chances of getting exactly what I want.

Twice, in fact...both of my camera upgrades since we've been married have happened while she was pregnant!

Went from crappy P&S Kodak to crappy P&S Nikon, then crappy P&S Nikon, to the awesome D70.

Now I just gotta play it right, and I'll have the D90 to shoot my new kid with...
