I want to buy a dedicated flash for my Nikon. This will be my first flash unit. Any suggestions?

What minimum guide # should I look for?
How many f stops would suffice?

Are you ever planning on going digital? If so, I would recommend the SB600 or SB800. Otherwise, you could go with the SB50. You missed out on someone selling theirs by a few days.
