Nikon N75 arrived. Nikon Users reply!

After all of my photography equipment was stolen in Chicago, I decided to start up again. Instead of getting another Ti and buying all of my Canon lenses again however, I decided to get a Nikon N75.

It just arrived today through fedex, and I need some advice on what some good lens choices are. I mainly shoot closeups, landscapes, and buildings.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Nikkor 24-120mm VR looks pretty good. It has a good zoom ranger and the closest focus is about a foot and a half throughout the zoom ranger. It ain't cheap though.

That is a little bit more than I am willing to spend for a zoom lens of that range (if it were about 200 bucks cheaper... ). I also have a 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 lens that came with the camera kit. It is alright for normal shooting, but is not very solid in terms of construction.

Perhaps I should go for the 50mm f/1.4?

You can get the 50mm 1.8 for $100 and it's just as sharp. I love that lens. Unless you need the extra stop or want extra sexy bokeh, I'd go with the 1.8

I probably do not need the extra stop anyways. the f/1.8 it is then, ohsotempting at 100 bucks. Too bad I will not be able to interchange filters between that and the 28-80.

Just get yourself a step up ring... the 50 1.8 lens is 52mm

If your 28-80 it needs a step up ring. It goes lens to filter. That one you linked is for attaching a 52mm lens on a 58mm lens which would cause vignetting.
