Nope, you need the wired shutter release:

ugh... thats crap....the cord was only 2 and a half feet, the friggin extension cord is more than the remote itself! for that price i might as well buy this thing, i was hoping not to spend that much though, i wont use it often but when I do use it I know I'll need more than a 2 foot cord.... grrrr Nikon!!!
