I also found that the XT was a little too small. And the fact that the D50 was only $675 compared to the $900 for the XT pushed me toward the nikon. Although I havent used the canon menu, the nikon isnt bad. You get used to it very quickly. All of the main features that you would use frequintly (iso, white balance, ect) are all on the main menu.
