No longer a newbie, moving up!
I'm finally back from my annual week-long spring trip to the NC coast. In addition to relaxing on the sand each day, my wife and I went on a 10-mile tour of the Cape Fear River with Wilmington Water Tours. The Cypress trees along the river are loaded with Osprey nests, and we were fortunate enough to see lots of birds on our trip feeding and raising their young. I've got some other great coastal bird photos, but I'll save those for their own thread. This one is ALL Ospreys, so enjoy!
Please note: several of these shots are 100% crops so you all can see the birds as close as possible. Please forgive any drop in quality. All photos were taken from a moving boat with my Tamron 70-300mm lens at 300mm, typically between f/5.6 and f/8 and ISO 100-200 using continuous AF.
