I was wondering how accurate Canon is on release times. I want to wait to purchase the XSI, which they say will be out in April. What are the chances that it will be for sale in April?

Well, that's a sticky question. I don't think the dates they give are always accurate...but there are many factors that determine how quickly a product will appear in stores.

If you want to get it ASAP, you could probably pre-order it from a major camera store. Even then, don't put yourself through the anguish of waiting for a specific day...it will be here when it gets here.

Well I'm not looking for a specific day but, if Canon says April are the chances really good it will be sometime in April or is it more likely it will be out in December?

If they say April, I would think that April or May would be reasonable.

You might have better luck calling a major retailer and asking them. They are at the end of the supply chain, rather than at the beginning...so they should have a good idea.
