What's new

Not bad for just a 70-200mm f2.8 L

Teleconverter, or just a heavy crop?

It's a 60D with crop sensor to begin with plus a crop in post. Still the quality is ok, not great but ok.

It looks good - just a lot closer than I would expect from 200mm.

Nice :) I did a similar shot of a full moon in august, using my 70-200 on the 7D. I was actually a bit surprised with the result :) I also took a shot with a slightly less exposure, making some of the details on the moon's surface stand out a little bit more. The live view and it's zoom function makes it really easy to get the focus spot on!

I'm gonna try it too.

Yep, not bad at all. I had similar results too.

You actually have two of the lenses that im currently considering lol the 16-35 and tokina 11-16. Want to get one of those this month, what do you think about them? (send PM)

I think it's great for a 200mm lens and decent crop. Better than what I've been able to do with my 250mm on a tripod.
