Not Quite B&W for C&C.

Today was a gray, cloudy day and I didn’t have anything else to do other than haunt TPF. So this afternoon I spent a couple hours tromping around the back alleys of the downtown area looking for some B&W shots. (I will say this: There’s a lot of good subjects in the back alleys if you just take the time to walk them.)

Once I processed them, I really didn’t like the B&W versions. So I went back to the color pix, and reduced the color saturation anywhere from 50-95% depending on the shot.

Good stuff, Sparky! I would go further and desaturate until it isn't really clear whether it is a partially desaturated rgb or a tinted bw - 5 and 9 are there, but not the others. All of them are great except 2 and 3, which don't do much for me. The best I think is 9.

You would like Philly - lots of little narrow streets and alleys. The light on cloudy days is perfect for this sort of thing. I get out in the street to shoot in cloudy weather as much as I can.
