I have a Sony a550

I was curious about taking BW photos and thought maybe it differed between types/brands of cameras.

Is it better (If you know you want a BW shot) to shoot it in the BW mode or are you better off taking it in color then doing your own BW in post?

Is there an advantage to putting it in BW mode for the camera?
