Well, I'm sticking to my trademark title theft. Saves me a lot of time to think of a clever one! :-P

Couldn't catch these guys in flight, but here are a few of the Indian Flying foxes I caught resting. Sorry for the poor quality, they were really really far away and against the bright sky. But I figured people here would love to look at this, as it's likely they haven't seen one before. :)

#1 Is it evening already?

#2 Sleeping like the Count Dracula

Enjoy guys :)

Wow! What fascinating critters! Thanks for posting. Lee

Way cool. That would freak me out if I was not trying to get the shots. :) The viewfinder makes me bolder than I normally would be.

Pretty sure I'd cry if I saw one of those in real life! But thanks for posting these! I loved seeing them....on my computer screen!

Thanks for posting the flying foxes Raj, we have them as well. They are very endearing but a real problem in some places.

Come on guys! Don't you know, they just want to cuddle :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thanks guys for all the nice comments, BTW a real question. What are critters? I've heard this term around the forum a few times but never read about it anywhere, which is strange as I do read a lot.

Hmmm...that title sounds kinda familiar..

Really cool looking bats! They definitely look like they are interested in your blood. Had to look them up, only eat fruit and flower nectar.
Really like #2, looks like my family when the camera comes out! "DAD! GO AWAY! You are not taking our picture!"

Oh and the term 'critters' is a generic term for any animal (mostly associated with small, fuzzy animals)

Cool critters never have seen them in real life. Thanks for sharing. Their sort of an ugly cute.

lol.. It sounds familiar cause I stole it from you :-P. Yes they feed only on fruits. FYI Blood thirsty vampires are actually quite small in size, otherwise they couldn't possibly get close to their prey.

Yeah! More ugly than cute I'd say :)

Great work Raj :) Bet they are plenty noisy!

Au contraire, they are actually so silent that 99% of the people don't even realise that they are there. I must have been to that place since my childhood, and only noticed them a few years back when I was actually looking around for subjects to shoot. By the time they leave to feed, most people are off these roads.
But maybe they start partying late at night :band:

Oh wow. We have flying foxes here and they congregate in large numbers during the day. You can certainly smell and hear them. Not horrible but you know they are there.
