Railroad marker of some sort.

Thank you both for the looking and taking the time to post. I took several and perhaps this one was the wrong one to share! I wouldn't say it wasn't of interest. It was. I liked the worn texture of the paint. I just don't know what it represents sitting there by the tracks. I was just being honest!!

Then give us in a photograph that scene you saw.

You have to put more thoughts abut how you will present what you've seen, in a photograph. What tracks f.e. we don't see that, we weren't there. It's not easy but that's something that must be done.

I went to your flickr and you have some really nice stuff there. I see that you put some more thoughts in those. That abandoned place, that barn you posted in another thread f.e. I like those a lot

I believe its a mile marker. Its tipped to the left a bit and sadly you didn't succeed in really showing the texture of the stone and peeling paint. Not sure if a color version might work better or not to show that. I think it would have more interest if you had chosen a composition that actually showed the train tracks with the marker. Just my 2 cents.

Well....I agree with all the above posts. The mile marker may be interesting, but doesn't make the best main subject. You clipped the concrete base at an awkward angle/way

I will do just that! I took several at the location. Some wider shots, color and different angles. It has to wait until after work. Thanks for checking out my other pics! Much appreciated!! Yours a quite nice as well. :hail:

And a good 2 cents it is!! I will revisit my other shots and luckily, it is close enough to hit again soon to make adjustments. Thanks for looking and the opinion.

MAYBE... include something to indicate that it is railroad related. To a model RR buff, I can see this hanging in a "train room". Maybe that's why I like it, because RR'ing is another interest of mine.
