advice? maybe suggestions on how i could make it better with gimp? i didnt screw with it all, it is in its original state. I like it myself- but has this been done too much before?

I dont use Gimp, i got photoshop, but this is what a little bit of High Pass, A bit of Blur + some Overlay and Multiply and Crop and clean up can get you.
