OBX Vacation - C&C? Do these suck?

Just a couple of shots from vacation. Simple, but I like them? How can I improve them? Thanks for looking.

Your saturation is too saturationy!
 
Yeah, I think you are right. When I shot these my camera was probably on Vivid +3 saturation which I like to use when shooting flowers and other colorful things. Definitely need to dial that back a bit. What do you shoot on when shooting people? Neutral? Standard?

What about composition? I get kicked in the "sack" a lot on this board for my composition and I'm working on that. :grumpy:

The best way to go about it, in my opinion, is to shoot with most of the camera settings pretty flat. You can always adjust things in post, and Lightroom is obnoxiously easy to use. Composition-wise, I like the second image best. The trail of sand following her feet off of the ground and her arms are pretty sweet.

EDIT-

I like the first image because it has more sand at the bottom. The play between yellow and blue is always nice.
