Taken about an hour ago at the Nassau County Museum of Art. I probably should have thought about this for a while before posting it, but I like it just the way it is right now, particularly the subtle shadows.

Love how the angles and lines on the bottom right half (imagining it cut diagonally) are balanced with the curves on the top left half.

The following comments are coming from me seeing your image on my crap laptop screen; consider that my disclaimer. But as a B&W I would love to see it overall a bit lighter & brighter. I think an increase in contrast would also add some pop. Maybe some minor sharpening would bring out some more of that lovely grain in the wood, too. It's such a clever capture, it deserves some tweaking.

it's so small and already too pixelated to make a fair judgement as to what might make it better. I also think the whites need a bump and the mid grays a push toward the middle. Your last edit is too contrasty for me.
