Beards! How long does it take to grow one?

For me, it takes a while - whether it's genetic, or testosterone levels, it just takes a while! My dad can grow an awesome one in no time!
But when mine does come in, it's red! RED!

I tell people it's from when the vikings came and invaded Europe, pillaging and assaulting our lands and women - and thus, my red beard is an offset from that!

Not that there's anything wrong with it being red, but the hair on my head is dark blonde and grey. It just changes totally at the midway point of my ears. Weird!

Women, feel free to chime in too - do you grow your leg hair for warmth? IDK - just a rambling post

My husband has multi colored hair. Brown on his head, white blond arm hair, and a red beard, it's black in other places. And here I thought he was special. There you go bursting my bubble.

My beard is rather reddish brown as well. In photos people think I'm ginger sometimes, because I'm so pale.

But no, I envy people who can grow a beard beard. I grow enough that I have to shave, but not enough that I can just let it grow. And it takes a about two weeks to grow the patchy two inches that I do.

I look like a pubescent hobo.

Mine tends to get grey but we will find out by the end of November (No shave November in progress).

My husband usually grows a full beard in less than a week. He is only able to do it while on vacation then complains when vacation is over and he has to shave again, if he could he would probably never shave.

I'm done in about a week. It makes my friends mad because it demonstrates my superior manliness.

Alas, the red has long since been replaced by grey.

How long to grow it depends on your definition of a beard. An eighth of an inch is doable for a lot of us in a week or less, but to me it's hardly real unless it's longer.

Mine used to be about a third red even though my hair was almost black.

I just hope I can grow a beard before I go bald. Most of the men in my family are bald, but they can also grow some pretty bitchin' beards when they choose.

I can't let myself succumb to the Costanza Effect.
