Dunno, I've never grown what I would consider a full beard. I can do a goatee within a week but it's still a bit spaced out for me around my cheeks though I do get a fair length. I would estimate 2-3 weeks for a full beard but it gets too itchy before that and then I shave (plus beards are way too in fashion now for me anyway). I did let it grow for a week through lazyness and shaved at the weekend using my almost antique half hollow straight razor and after a little bit of sharpening ( passing the hanging hair test after 40 passes) on a 12K Welsh slate hone and a good stropping but still needed to strop again half way through (apparently my hair is quite thick and wirey: I guess I have my Italian, Irish and Scots blood to thank for that).

PS, my beard growth also comes in mostly very dark brown but with a few ginger and increasingly more grey.

PPS, for those who also like statistics Scots have a population of approximately 13% redheads and 30-40% have the redhead gene. 1-2% of the population of the rest of the world are redheads with approximately 4-8% having the redhead gene.

About 3 weeks, but I haven't done it in 30 years. Mine is like a Brillo pad, and it's really painful at about 7 days. It's so course, it pulls the skin out with it. It will bleed a little, until it grows a tad longer and softens up a bit. Hurts like hell!!

1) Leg hair does not provide warmth.

2) My boyfriend has light brown hair - though more and more grey these days - but his beard has red hair scattered throughout. How long does it take him to grow it? I have no idea. He's had it for most of his adult life and I can't imagine him without a beard.
