Just for kicks I run almost every photo through my "sepia filter" to see what it looks like. I love the monotone and even if I'm converting it to black and white, it's not straight b&w, it has a bit of color to it. I use hue/saturation and check colorize and take out most of the saturation. It looks more like a b&w than simply desaturating.
