@waday love how he looks like he's sticking his head out of the frame on that last one!

So I feel like I took the easy way out today with the flower and dog shots. Didn't really learn anything new about the lens but I did work on framing and exposure so I could post these with no edits and no crops. I'm going to stretch my legs with the macro this week and try to use it for some portraits and landscapes.

Tonight's shot: My goldfish bowl.

I was playing with the Raw + JPEG for the dual cards and apparently grabbed the JPEG card, so no changes were made. I'm wondering how it will compare to the raw after I've done post.

Nikon D600 with Nikon 85mm f1.8 G

After Sharon's quip, I really was going to try to use the 85mm for something other than portraits. Failed today -- took some photos that weren't portraits, but they sucked. So we'll keep working on that.

ISO 125, f1.8, 1/80s -- I was in the new nursery with my daughter. My orange shirt as a reflector...not the best choice, although LR makes it easy to take the orange hue out of her face. Still liked in B+W better.

ISO 1100, f1.8, 1/80s -- my newborn son. Same exact room as above at the same time, but not directly reflected in the window light like my daughter, equals 3 stops additional exposure.

ISO 800, f2.8, 1/80s -- my mom with my son. I just loved the way the late evening light was coming across her shoulder onto his face. She also didn't know I had my camera in my hands, which means she's not glaring in return. Not technically perfect (my wife wanted me to remove the papers, haha) , but a keeper for my family regardless.

Those are great. I actually took the time to set mine up on a tripod. Threw an ant in the spider web, snapped. It was like .3 inches from web hole. The spider startled me on the LCD. Crazy fun stuff. It was hungry

Your spider is terrifying. I have a pencil eraser sized scar on my arm to remind me to give them their space, haha.

I've heard of people baiting birds to get shots but not baiting spiders. Is this a thing?

Well you challenged me sunshine, I had to pull out all the stops.

PS- was at a bonfire and don't get permissions to post people, so I was limited to 'anonymous' shots. Still had fun thinking that thru...
