Gosh! I'm really thin myself but there was nooooooooo hiding my belly. lol I looked like I was going to tip over by 35 weeks... and every week after that I swear it multiplied!

Tell me about it! She has actually gained more weight than I did when I was expecting, but she's about 6" taller so she carries really well! Her midwife has predicted a 8-9lb baby, believe it or not.

Wowza! 42lbs gained and my son was only 7 n 12oz. haha

LOL I'm 5'2" and gained a whopping 48 lbs. My daughter was 9lb7oz!

It's surprisingly difficult to get a good strong shape visible through a translucent material without actually draping the material onto the person. You MIGHT be able to project a shadow using a small light source for all of the backlighting, but that would give a distinctly different look -- it's not a figure seen through the material, it's a figure's shadow projected on the material.

I have no magic bullets, but I would suggest going with a more transparent material, and increasing the appearance of "translucence" in post. It, uh, seems like it ought to work?

I've experimented with shower curtains, and it's tough.

Yes, more definition was what I was going for, but I do like the lightness this has. Originally, I'd planned to use my new strip softbox for back light but in a ditz moment, forgot my triggers were in my bag that was left in a friends car. Having more control and less spill would have helped... I think.

animolitor- you have a way of explaining things I know but don't fully understand. Remembering that its her shadow being seen rather than her makes sense; if I'd been thinking that way I think I could have achieved a bit more definition in the silhouette. Next time!

This is an absolutely outstanding idea and it goes to prove that there is something new out there. Well done! I would like to see the silhouette burned in just a tad more, but regardless, this is simply stellar!

Good idea tirediron, the burn in may help show the baby bump more.

John - you've really been inflating my ego the past few days. First Eaton's and now this... seriously, new and different are two of the biggest compliments in my book. I really appreciate it!! I'll try some burning on it and see what happens.

:er: Mehh... I call 'em as I see 'em! I appreciate this sort of thing, because I lack the imagination to come up with the idea on my own. Having see it here, I am going to steal and work the Hades out of it however!
