One ring to rule them all...

This be my first attempt at Jewllery photography!
The ring is a 21st b'day gift to my girlfriend and I thought i'd photograph the ring for insurance purposes.

I'd like to see some more light on the front of the ring...I'm not sure I like the name card especially since it's half in shadow. The lighting from behind has given it a very nice sparkle though.

My camera has an 'excuse' for a macro mode so it kinda defeats getting any closer than 10cm.

Hows about lighting with tungsten or quartz-halogen? Might give you some better sparkel, nice pics though!
