The heck she doesn't--the pair she's wearing match the pair her sister has EXACTLY!!!!!!!

Re: lighting: a bit flat, balanced almost perfectly 1:1 with the background ambient lighting. Some people like that look, others might not. I would "normally" try and make that look like she was in the shade, by dialing the flash output down to Minus 2.5 stops...but by the same token, that can ALSO make things look a bit weird, and too,too dark...a lot depends on the exact camera and lens and flash being used, and how the camera and its metering are programmed, how powerful the flash is, what shutter speed is used, and so on. SHooting daylight flash, there are a LOT of factors that can come into play.

OP, your second post is very good. Your composition isn't the best, but I don't think you cared too much about that here.

The original had WB issues, but you fixed them.

But still, for Pete's sake, get your kid some matching footwear!
